Getting up on that cycle could be one of the smartest decisions you make.

Remember when you were a kid and you’d hop on your two-wheeler every chance you got? Fast-forward 10 years and the rat race has got you stressed, tired, drained, and longing for a break. Our solution? Hop on that cycle again. Not to race to the nearest ice cream store, but to get rid of the stress, tuck in that stomach, and tone up those leg muscles. Cycling is a great exercise option for those look to fire up those brain cells and beat those blues while burning calories in a fun way.

1. It sculpts your lower half
Biking helps tone and strengthen the muscles in the lower half of your body. It works out your calf, butt, and hip muscles—all problem areas for Indian women. If you’re climbing uphill, then you’ll also be working out your upper body, especially shoulders and arms, as you stand up to pedal. Added bonus? You’ll also be working your abdominal muscles to maintain your balance and stay in the saddle.

2. Keeps your waistline in check

When you ride, your body’s metabolic rate increases, which means you’re burning calories and fat at a faster, more efficient rate. In fact, research shows you continue to burn a higher amount of calories even a few hours after you’ve gotten off the bike! That’s a bonus we’ll happily say yes to.

3. It’s great for your heart

Cycling is a cardio-aerobic exercise, which means it revs up your metabolism, improves cardiovascular fitness, and improves endurance. Regular cardio exercise is know to keep coronary heart diseases like high blood pressure at bay, help prevent heart attacks, and regulate blood sugar and cholesterol levels.

4. It’s easier on your joints

When you’re walking, running, etc you’re putting all your weight on your legs. So your leg joints bear the brunt of the impact. However, when cycling the majority of the weight rests on your pelvic bones, helping you take it easy on your knees, ankles, and feet. Biking is a low impact exercise, which means it engages all the leg muscles without as much pounding on the knees. This makes it a good cardio exercise for those recovering from an injury or dealing with knee/foot pain.

5. It’s a natural mood enhancer

Ever heard of the ‘runner’s high’? You get a similar mood-enhancing rush while cycling thanks to the release of endorphins triggered by the aerobic exercise. Endorphins are feel-good hormones that make you feel euphoric and young, helping lower stress levels and anxiety. So even if you’re not in a good mood while getting on the bike, you definitely will be when you get off!

6. It makes you smarter

We’re not making this up! Studies have shown that pedalling a bike maintains blood flow to the brain and fires up the nerve cells, improving brain health and helping you build a better thinking organ. According to a recent study, cycling boosts the production of BDNF, a protein that helps the brain retain information and wards off neurological diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Do you need another reason to hop on?

Radhika Apte revealed she plays an uneducated, infertile village woman in her forthcoming film Parched. “It is about a girl called Lajjo who is uneducated and marries at a very early age. She thinks the sole purpose of her life is giving her husband a child. Later she finds out that she is infertile. It makes her feel upset and worthless,” she said.

Radhika also said she enjoyed working in this film thoroughly. “It is her (character’s) journey of self-discovery. I don’t think I have ever played the part of a woman who has such a beautiful balance. She thinks nothing of herself so she has nothing to lose and that brings the magic in her. She is so pure and honest,” she said.

She also explained how her character has a great contrast. “She has no self-confidence and at the same time she is very open about what she feels and very magical and full of life,” she added.

Radhika, however, expressed her anguish over her village girl role in Parched being compared with her earlier such roles. “If I play a city girl, no one asks anything. If I play a rural part, people compare it to last film. It is astonishing. There is nothing similar between this character with my earlier village girl roles,” she said.

Parched is a 2015 drama written and directed by Leena Yadav and produced by Ajay Devgan under his banner Ajay Devgn FFilms. It premiered at the Special Presentations section of the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and is scheduled to be released on September 23.

1. Eat more, eat right!

It's very common to extend the time between two meals when we're trying to lose weight. However, it works against you because you tend to eat more and fast when super-hungry.

Instead, try to eat something light and nutritious every couple of hours

Several studies show that eating a spicy hot appetizer before a meal curbs your appetite. Reason?Eating anything slowly gives your brain an impression that you are full. Also, spicy food contain chili pepper that's great for boosting metabolism.

Alternatively, you can consume snacks that are rich in fiber (like sprouts, apples, berries, avocados, etc.). Eating high-fiber foods before a meal slashes calorie consumption as they fill you up quickly, making it difficult to overeat.

2. Do strength-training
While exercises like aerobics and zumba are great for burning calories, strength training speeds up your metabolism by increasing muscle mass.

3. Drink tea

Drinking green/black/herbal tea not only makes up for your daily water intake but also speeds up weight loss as it's packed with antioxidants.

So if you like tea, sip your way to a toned body!

4. Sleep more
The longer you sleep at night, the more fat you'll burn. Getting 8 hours of ZZZ's every day controls the production of ghrelin and leptin, the hormones that regulate appetite.

When you don't get enough sleep, your body increases the production of  ghrelin (a "hunger hormone") which triggers cravings. On the other hand, production of leptin, a hormone that makes you feel full, decreases.

Just to be clear, there's a difference between things we do to your boobs, and things we want to do to your boobs. Of course, we love you and everything else you've got going on, and we like the stuff we actually do with your boobs, but here are the things we would do if only we had full VIP 24/7 access.

1. Motorboat them. It doesn't feel good for you and it doesn't really feel great for us. But we want to do it, anyway. It's like a deep desire that exists in all men.

2. Stare at them ... for a really, really long time. Long enough that, even if we're in a long-term relationship, it would probably make you uncomfortable. Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and just watched your boyfriend sleep and thought about how lucky you are? We want to do that, but to your boobs.

3. Take them in both hands gently and jiggle them. It ... it's mesmerising.

4. Use them as pillows. Sure, we can rest our weary head on them for a bit when we're cuddling, but you'll eventually tell us your boob is falling asleep or something.

5. Press our ear to them and listen to the ocean.

6. Treat them like a sexy basketball hoop. We just want to kick back and throw M&M's into your cleavage because it feels incredibly satisfying. We like boobs, and we like seeing if we can throw things into other things, and this is the point where the two intersect.

7. Grope with wild abandon. We just want to get all up in those boobs without worrying what feels good to do, and just explore them like they're majestic mountains. We just want to squeeze.

8. Hold them forever. If it were socially acceptable to walk around in public and hold our girlfriends' boobs, we would.
